Toix , Calpe. A place for the summer.

Hello, climbing friends.

Today we are going to make this post about a place that is close to home, more specifically in Toix, located between Calpe and Mascarat. This place is very close to the sea. The views are beautiful as you can see the rock of Ifach and on the other side the whole area of Altea, Albir and Benidorm.

To get from Benidorm, take the N-332 towards Calpe, once you pass Altea and the Mascarat tunnel, take the first exit on the right as soon as you leave the Mascarat, in the direction of the Maryvilla urbanization.

This place contains a high number of routes of all types of climbing such as sports, semi-equipped, classical. Also in the highest part you can make descents and collapses.

The roads are easily accessible and you can leave the cars 50 m from the climbing area to access on foot.

In Cala Racó del Corb, it is a magnificent place to practice Psicobloc, as the sea and the wind hit the walls eroding them and leaving a very unique place for the practice of this form of climbing so appealing in summer.

It is a Mediterranean climate, this makes winter the best time of the year to practice sport climbing. In summer it is difficult, since the temperatures are very high and the sun is incessant in the early hours of the morning. For my taste it would be a good time to practice the Psicobloc.

In spring and autumn it makes a very good climate for sports, except when the strong west wind whips the walls.

Where to sleep and eat?

It is necessary that you bring your own water and food because there are no nearby places of fresh water or establishments that sell it. There is also the possibility of getting closer to the neighboring towns such as Calpe or Altea and eating in one of its magnificent restaurants.

It is impossible to sleep in places close to the tracks because the closest urbanizations there are no apartments or hotels with the purpose of being rented.
